What is Sustainability?

European PDOs
The EU Geographical indications system protects the names of products that originate from specific regions, have specific qualities or enjoy a reputation linked to the production territory.

Product names registered as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) are those that have the strongest links to the place in which they are made. To receive the PDO status, the entire product must be traditionally and entirely manufactured within the specific region and thus acquire unique properties.
The quality or properties are significantly or exclusively determined by the geographical environment, including natural and human factors, whose production, processing and preparation takes place within the determined geographical area.
