On March 5th, a selected group of wine professionals have had the opportunity to know more about European Sustainable Wines and tasted some wines from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
Guests could meet some representative wines of the Abruzzo Wines Consortium, through the live voice of the Abruzzo producers, who were connected via WeChat to tell the story of their winery and the characteristics of their wines, especially the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. The wines tasted were from: Azienda Agricola Fontefico, Barone di Valforte, Valori, Velenosi, Vini Biagi and Vini Casalbordino.
Mr. Davide Acerra, director of the Abruzzo Wines Consortium, greeted and welcomed the Chinese guests and he briefly introduced the Consortium.
Chinese guests have deeply appreciated the wines presented and, despite the distance, the speeches of producers have transmitted the great passion which characterizes their work, their wines, and their esteem for European Sustainable Wines.
About the European Sustainable Wines Campaign
This project was born from the joint work of the Italian consortia Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo and Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato, together with the Regulatory Board of the La Mancha Designation of Origin in Spain. It will last 3 years and will focus on the markets of China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam.
The European Sustainable Wines campaign is financed by the Multi-Programme CHAFEA (Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency) and is under Regulation (EU) No 1144/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2014 on information provision and promotional measures for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries
